Challenge
VARGO™ Companies decided to work with GREENCREST in April 2006 with the ultimate goal of identifying the company’s unique brand message and shifting the company reputation from a small, family-owned business to a market leader positioned to provide full-service, material handling solutions.
Solution
GREENCREST began laying the foundation by facilitating a strategic marketing discussion involving key company team members followed by a survey of VARGO™ clients and prospects. From the data collected, GREENCREST prepared a competitive matrix, studied secondary research of the industry and created a marketing strategy and tactical plan to maximize VARGO™’s market potential.
Included in the plan was GREENCREST’s direction for VARGO™ to develop a corporate structure under the name VARGO™ Companies which would encapsulate three divisions: VARGO™ Adaptive Software, VARGO™ Material Handling and VARGO™ Integrated Systems.
As part of building name recognition, GREENCREST developed a a new Web site and a full public relations program to increase press exposure.
GREENCREST developed a company positioning statement “Knowledge. Innovation. Dynamic Optimization,” and a company selling message to express the more comprehensive VARGO™ story. Collateral materials, Web site, trade displays and trade advertisements delivered the strong brand message, “Our Solutions Are for Companies That Aren’t Afraid to Accelerate to Maximum Potential.” The company’s message was reinforced with white papers, case stories and public relations.

In a period of one year, VARGO™ emerged as a recognized name in the industry. American Eagle Outfitters, Barnes and Noble, and L.L. Bean are just a few of the nationally recognized companies that have reaped the benefits of VARGO™’s advanced technology and material handling expertise. GREENCREST’s direction helped VARGO™ achieve a new level of market awareness and the professional tools to take its message to the marketplace.
