Long-time Partnership Helps Make Innovative Materials Handling Provider a Well-Known Industry Presence
Throughout the Years
When our work together began over 17 years ago, VARGO® was an up-and-coming force in the materials handling space with a forward-thinking approach to breaking out from the pack. Their pull-based fulfillment solution, COFE® (Continuous Order Fulfillment Engine) software, was already doing for fulfillment what Lean did for manufacturing. Aware that they needed awareness to drive growth, they turned to GREENCREST to create and implement their first marketing plan.
The plan outlined their goals to create greater name recognition, establish a reputation of innovation and reliability and establish VARGO® as an industry-wide expert to increase the sales pipeline and drive revenue growth.
Our wholistic look at their goals led us to recommend a revamp of their sales tools to include creating a capabilities brochure, mailer series, website, project sheets, proposal system, trade show booth design and more. Hoping to make splash and gain the necessary recognition, their brand messaging at this time offered somewhat of a challenge to prospective customers.

We wanted to entice potential customers by exhibiting confidence in the capabilities that had already earned VARGO® a loyal and satisfied customer base, to drive revenue growth.
By 2014, awareness was up, and our efforts shifted to targeting relevant industry publications with product ads and trade show participation, to highlight the capabilities of COFE® and the VARGO® approach, establish themselves as industry leaders and gain opportunities to act as a thought leader in the industry.
Today
GREENCREST continues to support VARGO®’s marketing efforts, but our objectives have changed as their business has moved beyond their early adopter customer base and they have become a well-recognized presence in their industry on a national level. Our role now is to keep them at the top of the pack by reaching the most innovative minds in the supply chain, manufacturing and distribution industries.
VARGO® continues to utilize GREENCREST’s expertise in developing a well-rounded, integrated marketing plan to include media relations, paid advertising, trade show presence and coordination and social media coordination.
GREENCREST is currently executing the following recommendations in 2024:
- Media relations outreach to target trade publications with thought leadership contributions and develop news releases around new partnerships and innovative client work
- Paid advertising efforts to include digital and print placements, email target reports and panel, editorial and interview contributions for key trade publications
- Trade show coordination
- Social media content creation and management
- New website development, including design, content and management
- Press kit updates to reflect updated design elements and brand language
