ACG Announces John Mariotti as October Luncheon Speaker

COLUMBUS, Ohio—­The Association for Corporate Growth (ACG) Columbus Chapter, announces John Mariotti, CEO and Founder of The Enterprise Group (mariotti.com), as the speaker for the October 14 Luncheon Meeting.

Mariotti’s presentation, “The Missing Metrics: Managing Complexity to Improve the Bottom Line,” will focus on measuring and managing complexity in organizations and how to avoid destroying bottom line profitability by hidden complexity.

Since founding The Enterprise Group in 1994, Mariotti has advised companies such Emerson, Scotts, Titleist, DirtDevil, and Hills Pet Nutrition. He has become

an Internationally recognized business executive and award-winning author and speaker.  He has written nine books on business including his new book The Complexity Crisis-Why Too Many Products, Markets & Customers Are Crippling Your Company-And What To Do About It, which was chosen as the 2008 Best Book on Business by Soundview Executive Book Summaries. Since 2001, he has authored a weekly newsletter called “The Enterprise” which is featured on a weekly web-blog called “Telling It Like It Is.”  His writings have appeared in The Wall Street Journal, Fortune, Boardroom Reports/Bottom Line, Business, Industry Week, and Business Week among other business publications.

His speaking engagements include appearances on CNBC’s Today’s Business and Power Lunch Shows, MSNBC’S Your Business, including his own host show, “The Life of Business and the Business of Life,” on the North American Broadcasting Network.

Prior to founding The Enterprise Group, Mariotti was the President of Rubbermaid Office Products Group, and served as President of Huffy Bicycles.

Throughout the 1980s and 1990s, he served as the Chairman of the Board of the Productivity Communications Center, Board Chairman of Goodwill Industries of Dayton (OH), and President of the Bicycle Institute of America.  He currently serves on several boards including World Kitchen, Henkel Consumer Adhesives, Petmate, DF Co. LLC., Levick Strategic Communications and HomeCare Industries.

Mariotti received a BSME from Bradley University and joined Automatic Electric Laboratories in R&D after receiving a MSME from the University of Wisconsin.
